My cute, cuddly, fluffy, one eyed peekapoo Shaina passed away on Sunday evening.

This was totally unexpeted, she wasn't showing any overt signs of being ill although she was up there in age.

Our best guess is a heart attack or stroke.  I feel bad because I have been out of town for a week having fun at Disney when I could have spent some more time with her.   I'm worried about the other dogs now especially max because he was Shaina's dog. Literally..Shaina picked him out at the pound.

I'm torn between just wanting to go home (even though we just got to Miami to see my Family) and wanting to stay here to see my family and friends.

Dear Body.  I know we are in our 30's now but that's no reason to have so many issues in so short a time.

First a Cold, Then a Kidney stone, Now Head Congestion.

Two words body...YOU SUCK.

I was working out 2-3 times a week until you kicked me from the inside with the kidney stone, and then I was all set to go back to the gym today and you give me this swollen (litterally) head..

I will not let you hold me back...I will fight for my right to be healthy.

In short Body... F U!

Given that the focus on the upcoming elections has been the presidential election I would like to point out that there are MUCH more important elections that we need to consider.

Specifically Governor and LT Governor, US House and US Senate, as well as State house and Senate plus local elections.  All of which have significantly more influence on our day to day lives than the president does.

SO to help you research and find out who is running here is a list to the
state board of elections so you can find your county and see your ballot.

Also for the Gubernatorial here is a link to the most recent
debate featuring ALL three candidates.  Personally I like the libertarian candidate Mike Munger.

As for the Presidential election I admit I voted for Obama in the primary because McCain had already been selected as the republican candidate.  I am however considering voting for Bob Barr (the Libertarian Candidate for Presidency) because I have major issues with both Obama and McCain.  Anyway PLEASE look at your options and vote for who YOU THINK is best.  Do your research and make your own decision.

Nuff Said.

Since most of you have read widowspeaks journal I'll just hit the high/low points.

Had sudden pain in lower left stomach with muscle spasme on my lower left back begining at 10am yesterday.

At 11am I left the training session I was in to go home realizing I was approaching so much pain I could not pay attention to anything.

Get home around 11:30am and tried to lay down.. Couldn't sit still or lay down AT ALL.  Pain was too much.  Finally tried taking a really hot bath and that seemed to help for a little while.  This was around 2-3pm

I then alternated betwen pacing, and not quite laying down on the bed.
Thre up around 5:30pm.

Checked into to the hospital by 6:30p
Got to a bed around 8.
After some brief poking and proding they gace me Morphine.   May the GOS BLESS the creator of MORPHINE.
The pain dropped very quickly from a 7-8 down to a 2-3 and I was able to actually sit still for more than 2 miliseconds.

X-rays and CT around 11:30

Around 3am the doctor got the results from the radiologist that said I didn't have an obstruction but I did show every indication of having passed a kidney stone.

So my stomach is skiwly returning to normal functionality.  I'm still a little tender in the belly, and I'm weak as hell from not eating anything yesterday (I suppose that was inevitable because it was Yom Kippur) and Amanda and I are supposed to work an event tomorrow.

I was really looking forward to this one because it would be our first juried show and a street festival at that.   I've been helping Amanda with Product after work all week.
But I fear that trying to do this show would ruin our health after her and I both having colds, her still coughing, and me weak from suffering major pain yesterday due to the kidney stone.

We could really use the money but I feel that our health is much more important. We had both been buring the candles at both ends for about the last 3-4 weeks with back to back festivals, our day jobs and then trying to re-inventory the store.

Thoughts anyone?

Well, New job is treating me well.  I'm finally being paid decently for a reasonable amount of work.

Pennsic Prep is behind schedule but I'm not worrying about it.

I have thursday off to finish packing and prep, and we are going to drive out friday.

Stragley, it's amazing how quitting a retail job has totally opened up my social life.  I've done something just about every weekend since quitting CCity.  Frequently gone out during the week (that will end when I switch back to nights) but it's been fun while I've been training.

Well, Managed to pour a cement pad along the back of the barn so I can build a utility room for a gas hot water heater along the back of the barn.

Also replaced all the air filters in the house.   Shaina is responding well to her meds and eye drops, the swelling is no longer the size of a plum, it's down to about a gobstopper.    (Rymadil is a wonderful thing for dogs)!

Helped Manda fold and put away Laundry, updated Myspace blog, and now LJ.  Watched some CSI.  About to read and go to sleep.

Really hoping to hear from one of the positions I interviewed for.

Today, by comparison to yesterday, was borderline relaxing.  Slow day at work.  No problem customers.

Shaina has gone back to bullying the big dog's, radar collar, golfball sized, brusied eye and all.

Although by this evening it seems the swelling has started to go down.

I am supposed to have an interview tommorow at UNC but the person I spoke to on the phone never sent me an e-mail but at least I know which building I am supposed to be in.    So hopefully I will figure out where my interview is.  I'll just get there about 20 minutes early and explore until I find the person I spoke to.

My poor Shaina is trying to scratch her eye through the radar collar.  I wish I could do something but I know it has to be left alone in order to have a chance at healing.

So I wake up to one of my big dogs and my little dog fighting.  Shaina (little dog) (peek-a-poo) gets her eye poped out.  So We have to rush her to the ER vet for surgery.  Chances are she is still going to loose the eye but we just don't know.  She's out of surgery, very tired and miserable.   But that's just the start.

On the way back from the Vet (Manda and Chris were going back in my car while I went straight to work) the Focus clutch craps out while shifting into second.  So they have to get the car towed to the mechanic and get another friend of ours to pick them up.

Then I have a really crappy day at work where every TV or PC install I was working on was just overly complicated with multiple hickups, spread all over the Durham RTP area, and the customers were...not exactly bitchy... but...hmmm... how should I put this.... WHINNINY!  Yeah that about sums it up.  The frickin salespeople WAY OVERpromised what can be done and unfortunatley it's up to me... to deliver what I can and smooth over the rest.
Then I come home late due to above mentioned problem customers to see my dog who looks like she has a golfball where her eye used to be and it's all bruised.  Poor puupy.

Plus last night or freezer stopped working so at least we got the triple whammy over with.

Well, time to drink.
